Lewis Powell The
AHRC Research Centre started
a weblog recently, so I've added a link to it in the blogroll.
I've also reorganized the blogroll a bit. Apart from a bit of category refining, I also added a new category, "Highly Pracitcal Blogs", because I wanted to draw more attention to and have a prominent reminder of Tina Huggins's
Conference and CFP blog. The site is a great idea, and it's just in everyone's best interest (conference organizers, applicants, and attendees) to have a site with comprehensive conference information. Hopefully, a site like this can take some of the sting out of publicizing one's own conferences. Hunting down addresses (or purchasing them), mailing out calls to a bunch of departments, and the like is not a fun process, and a site like this is a much more efficient way to get information out there, as well as making it easier for interested parties to find it. Also the more it gets used, the more useful it will be.
Speaking of conferences, tomorrow begins
the First Annual USC/UCLA Graduate conference. The program includes papers on a broad range of philosophical topics, John Perry is giving the keynote presentation, and I am pretty excited for the conference. If you are in the area, we encourage you to come by and check it out.
